Charity Shops are social networks, to swap fashion, music and collectables cheaply and greenly. But without the volunteers they wouldn’t exist.

Charities usually ask for a long term, regular commitment, but on V day, you can drop in for half a day, as a one off. And if you want to come back another time – it’s up to you!

The first V Day will be held on Friday 9th October 2009 in 20 charity shops around London. It is jointly coordinated by Mary Portas, Help The Aged, Age Concern, Mind, North London Hospice, Save The Children, Sue Ryder Care and The Association of Charity Shops.
